About Me

I am currently a teaching assistant professor and assistant director of debate in the Department of Communication Studies at University of Nevada, Reno. My current research focuses on political discourse in digital/networked contexts. I am particularly interested in how social media blurs traditions distinctions between the personal and public spheres and the implications of these distinctions for personal relationships.

At UNR, I teach clasess in communication research methods, rhetoric, and intercultural communication. I also work with our nationally-ranked debate team, which competes primarily in NPDA-style parli debate and NFA-Lincoln Douglas debate.
